This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no tracking pixels. The only personal information it takes is what you type into the enquiry form and choose to send — that goes to our inbox, and a copy comes back to you.

1. The short version
We are an exporter, not an advertising business. We hold what you send us in order to quote and to ship, and nothing beyond that.
- The Site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts.
- The enquiry form sends what you type to our inbox by email, and emails you a confirmation copy. Nothing is sent until you press the send button, and it is used only to answer your enquiry.
- Typefaces are served from this Site, not from a font network, so browsing does not report you to a third party.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Ever.
2. Who is responsible
Chakraborty Overseas, 30/2 Shib Chandra Chatterjee Street, Belur Bazar, Howrah 711202, West Bengal, India, decides how the information described here is handled. In Indian law we are the data fiduciary; if you are writing from the EU or the UK, we are the controller.
You can reach us about anything on this page at exports@chakrabortyoverseas.com.
3. What the website collects
Nothing in the background. There is no account, no login, no newsletter sign-up and no payment on this Site, and the catalogue and company profile download without asking who you are. The only personal information the Site takes is what you type into the enquiry form and choose to send.
The Site is hosted by Hostinger, on servers in India. As with any website, the servers that deliver these pages record ordinary technical connection data — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. Hostinger keeps these logs briefly to deliver the site and to defend it against abuse. When you send the enquiry form, your IP address is also checked for a few minutes to block repeated automated submissions. We do not use any of this to build a profile of you or try to identify you from it.
4. What you send us
When you write to us — through the enquiry form, or directly by email, WhatsApp or telephone — we receive what you chose to put in the message. Typically that is:
- your name and your company
- your email address, and your telephone or WhatsApp number if you use them
- the destination country and port
- the specification, grade, quantity and delivery terms you are asking about
- anything else you add, including the correspondence that follows
Enquiry-form messages, and the confirmation copy sent back to you, are delivered by Resend, an email delivery service operated by Resend, Inc. in the United States.
If an order results, we will also hold the commercial and shipping details needed to execute and document it, including consignee details and the bank references your payment method requires.
5. Why we hold it, and on what basis
To answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation, execute an order, ship it, document it and account for it — and to keep the records Indian tax, customs and company law require us to keep.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies to you, our lawful bases are the steps taken at your request before entering a contract and the performance of that contract (Article 6(1)(b)), our legitimate interest in responding to business correspondence and maintaining our commercial records (Article 6(1)(f)), and compliance with our legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, we rely on your consent in approaching us and on the legitimate uses it recognises.
We do not use your details for marketing you did not ask for, and we do not add enquirers to a mailing list.
7. Where it goes
We are in India and you are, in all likelihood, not. Corresponding with us and buying from us necessarily moves your information to India, and moves shipping details onward to the carriers and authorities in the destination country. That transfer is inherent in the transaction you are asking for.
The Site's server logs are held in India by Hostinger. Enquiry-form emails pass through the United States on their way to us, because they are delivered by Resend, Inc., a US company.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the necessity of the transfer for the performance of the contract with you, or for pre-contractual steps you have requested. Ask us if you need a different arrangement in place before you correspond.
8. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept while there is a live prospect of business and are then cleared from our correspondence.
Records of an actual export — invoices, shipping and customs documents, payment records — are kept for as long as Indian tax, customs, GST and company law require, which is a period of years and is not something we can shorten on request.
9. Security
The Site is served over an encrypted connection. Correspondence and commercial records are held in business email and accounting systems with access limited to the people who need it.
No system is perfect, and email in particular is not a secure channel. Please do not send bank credentials, card details or identity documents by email. Watch for fraudulent messages purporting to change our bank details — we will never notify a change of banking details by email alone; always confirm on the telephone number published on this Site.
10. Your rights
Write to us and we will act on it. Depending on where you are, you may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- erase what we no longer have a lawful reason to keep
- restrict or object to a particular use, including any based on legitimate interests
- receive the details you gave us in a portable form
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you, as the Indian Act allows
Send the request to exports@chakrabortyoverseas.com and we will respond within one month, or sooner. If we cannot do what you ask — usually because a statutory retention period covers the record — we will say so and explain why.
If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your national supervisory authority if you are in the EU, or to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are in the UK. We would rather you came to us first.
12. Children
This is a business-to-business site for industrial buyers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly hold information about them. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
If we change how we handle information — if, for instance, we ever add an analytics tool, or change the provider that hosts the Site or delivers enquiry-form emails — we will update this page and the date at the head of it before doing so.
Questions on this document
Write to us before you order rather than after. We would rather answer a clause now than argue about it against a bill of lading later.

Enquiries
Send us a specification
Size, grade, standard, finish and quantity is enough to start. If something is missing we will ask rather than assume.
